Anders and Joanna met on a rainy Bed-Stuy night in May 2021 after matching on a dating app. Each of them thought the other was even more beautiful in person than in their photos. Over the next five years, they weathered temporary separations, career changes, and misadventures in France to discover that the home they’d found in each other had an unshakable foundation.

In 2023, they moved in together and started building a physical home for themselves and their perfect kitty cat Fiona. Earlier this year, they finally got engaged while birdwatching on the North Fork of Long Island.
